So, I'm starting to get back on my feet after things fell apart.
I've applied to a local community tech college and put in a financial aid app, and have been playing phone tag with the F.A. office. One of these days I'll get a hold of them. Get myself back to school this fall so shallow employers worldwide will even bother to consider me despite any experience I might already have.
As for the job hunt, I walked into a Taco Bell yesterday and it just so happens there was a job fair going on. So, yeah, got a job there. Better than sitting around all day, depressed, waiting for the phone to ring. Just hope it pays more than my unemployment benefits.
In some downtime, I picked up on Lua and learned how to make Scripted WEaPons (SWEPs) in Garry's Mod. Working on a port of Halo's ever-so-famous pistol, you can view a WIP video here.
It works perfectly mechanically, true to the original (save for the camera impulses, I like HL2's recoil over Halo's), just need to get some crosshairs, icons, and most importantly, models. I have no idea how to make viewmodels for Source, so it might take a while. |
