Been a while since my last update. So much going on, yet so little that's blogworthy.

My car's registration expired on the tenth, and just before that I had mailed in my renewal and paid the taxes on the damn thing. Three days ago, my mother was driving it and she gets pulled over by a cop that ran the plates and found that the car wasn't registered. ...what?! I call the DMV, and they tell me that I needed to send the car through emissions testing, and that my registration is being held until then. Honestly, I didn't know that. They said they sent letters and stuff, but I never got them. Wierd.

So I leave to get this all rectified. Since I'm new to the area, I'm stumbling around trying to find an emissions station. I stop at a Midas, only to find that there's an hour-long waiting period. He gives us directions to a Meineke, and we get the car tested there. It passes, so I then need to find my insurance agent to get updated ID cards.

I drive about 6 towns over, taking backroads and nearly getting lost due to a traffic jam on the interstate, and forget where in this town the friggin' place is. Countless detours, some yelling, and an hour later, I finally find it, having passed it like three times. We go in, get the cards, and drive to the DMV.

No parking spaces. I'm driving around in a circle, waiting for a parking spot to open, like I'm in a mini NASCAR race, for about 15 minutes. Failing that, I pull out and park up the road a bit. I enter the building, and the line's going out the door. Fortunately, there was this lady there who picks through the lines and tells people to either continue waiting in line (for simple transactions like mine) or take a number (for complex stuff like registering a new car). That gets cut down quick, and I finally get it all done, get my new sticker, and slap it on my windshield.

The funny thing is, usually I get places fast and people are rude. This was the complete opposite; took me four hours to do all this what with getting lost a bunch of times, and everyone was incredibly nice. Shocking.
